GAS POOL HEATER REPAIR
Gas pool heater repair in Vaughan and surrounding areas
Most pool heater faults come from water flow, ignition or a safety control doing its job. We test the heater and the water side together, so the real cause gets fixed and pricing is confirmed with you before work begins.
Water side and gas side.
Both have to be right.
WHAT WE SEE MOST
Common pool heater problems we repair.
When you request service, include the brand, model and any error code on the display.
Heater won't fire
We check the call for heat, gas supply, igniter, flame sensing, control board and the safety circuit.
Pressure switch or flow fault
Often a dirty filter, low water level, a closed or misset valve, or a variable-speed pump running too slowly for the heater.
High-limit or overheat lockout
Can come from low flow, a bypass problem, a failing sensor or scale in the heat exchanger.
Error code on the display
A code tells us where to start, not which part failed. We test the circuit before replacing anything.
Heater runs but heats slowly
We look at flow, gas pressure, burner condition, heat exchanger condition and whether the heater is sized for the pool.
Soot, rust or debris in the burner area
Insects, nests and leaves are common after the off-season. They affect combustion and should be cleaned before running.
Water leaking from the heater
Often a heat exchanger or header problem from freeze damage or aggressive water chemistry.
Heater shuts off and restarts
We check flow stability, thermistors, limits and the pressure switch.
Gas safety: if you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the building right away and call 911 from outside. Don't use switches, phones or flames inside. This page and the request form are not for emergencies.

QUESTIONS
Common questions.
Why does my heater show a pressure or flow error?
The heater needs enough water flow to fire safely. A dirty filter, low water, a closed valve or a pump on low speed can all trip it. Check those first, then request service if it continues.
Can water chemistry damage my pool heater?
Yes. Water that is too acidic can corrode the heat exchanger, and high hardness can leave scale. Keeping the pool's chemistry balanced protects the heater.
What should I do before the technician arrives?
Make sure the pump is running and the filter is clean, and note any error code. Don't remove panels or bypass safety controls.
Should I replace an old heater instead of repairing it?
Sometimes, but not by default. We test first and explain whether the repair makes sense for the heater's age and condition.
